"We can fly! We can fly! We can fly! Wheeeee!" Pixies? Fairies?.... You know, I'd gladly choose this delightfully charming slice of make-believe (and all of its genuine wonder) over Spielberg's plodding, crappy, old Hook, any day. Without a doubt, Peter Pan has certainly earned itself an extra-special place in the magical realm of classic animated Disney films. Regardless of one's age, this captivating film actually has the power to instill an element of wonder, hope, and joy into all who view it. This 1953 screen-version of James M. Barrie's superb story about childhood dreams and fantasies is both comical and colourfully told, and, thankfully, kept on the straight and narrow when it comes to the book's storyline. Barrie's wondrous focus on eternal child's play is the key to this tale's overwhelming charm and enduring longevity. (*Be sure to watch movie-trailer*)
