The chapters of the book follow an American businessman who is learning German for an upcoming trip to Munich. Each chapter consists of a story about the businessman (both in German and with the English translations), a vocabulary list, and grammar explanations. The chapters cover a variety of topics and hold the reader's interest. The vocabulary is varied and relevant. The grammar explanations are easy to understand. This book is all "meat" - it doesn't have any fluff, which I something that I like. I'd recommend it both as an introductory book as well as a review book for those who have already had some German.
