Helen Keller's - "The Story of My Life" is a thoughtful book of real-life experiences. In this book Keller speaks often of hope and optimism and of learning to live with one's disabilities. Written in 1903 (when Keller was just 22) - This book gives the reader an insider's perspective on growing up with the challenge of being one who is both deaf and blind. Keller was less than 2 years old when she completely lost the ability to both see and hear. In this book of reflection, Keller talks openly about her companion and teacher, Anne Sullivan who had worked closely with her since she was the age of 7. *Note* - In 1968 - Helen Keller (87 at the time) died of a stroke while in her sleep.
