Similarities to Gone Girl are exaggerated. Gillian Flynn had the ability to create unlikable characters, yet compel the reader to continue reading. The characters in Good Girl were largely cliches, especially Mia's family. I kick myself for not knowing until near the end that Harlequin was the publisher. Had I known that I doubt I would have read the book. Despite the comments of others, I didn't think the end was that surprising, but then again, this wasn't really a mystery story. If looking for a mystery - as I was - pass on this book
