Summary

When Her Friend Goes Missing, Every Minute Counts Darcy St. James returns to Alaska to join a journalist friend undercover on the trail of a big story. But when Darcy arrives, she finds her friend has disappeared. Troubled by the cruise ship's vague explanation, Darcy uses her cover as a travel reporter to investigate further. The last person Gage McKenna expects to see during his summer aboard a cruise ship leading adventure excursions is Darcy. And in typical Darcy fashion, she's digging up more trouble. He'd love to just forget her--but something won't let him. And he can't help but worry about her as they are heading into more remote regions of Alaska and eventually into foreign waters. Something sinister is going on, and the deeper they push, the more Gage fears they've only discovered the tip of the iceberg. Dani Pettrey is one of my top 3 favourite authors and I had high hopes for this story. She didn't disappoint! I loved it, from another gorgeous cover right to the end. This is the third book in the Alaskan Courage Series. Gage and Darcy met in the last book, but that was more about Landon and Piper and a whole other set of mysterious circumstances. I think you could just jump in and start with this book but it's best to start with book one. This series continues with different members of a family but since they are there to some extent from book one you're missing a lot if you don't start at the beginning. The Alaskan cruise ship is a great setting for this story. It's unusual and interesting. Darcy was an investigative reporter and when her friend digs up something big, Darcy goes undercover once again as a 'travel reporter' to help her out. Only she never gets the scoop from her friend because she disappears from the boat before Darcy arrives. My only problem with this story is some of the situations and scrapes Darcy gets herself into. As a savvy investigative reporter I don't believe she'd take some of the risks she did. Gage McKenna is still bitter about his broken relationship with his ex and the death of his infant son and he thinks that Darcy is cut from the same cloth as his ex. She slowly gains his trust as he helps her solve the mystery.
