A ten year old boy, falls into a sinkhole while out hunting in an Amish countryside and lands beside a body wrapped in a quilt. He is so terrified by the eyes of the corpse that he shoots the face off, thereby preventing easy identification of the remains. This s begins a mystery involving the Amish, a sharp young television journalist named Riley Spartz, family secrets and a very important clue, a twelve acre corn maze. Riley, an investigative reporter in Minneapolis, decides that this is a great story for the news broadcast and a chance to boost her status at the television station. She heads out to Fillmore County in search of a news breaking story. She finds her story and quite a bit more. This fast moving fifth book by Julie Kramer will not disappoint her old fans or new readers. Reviewed by SF.
