Joanna and her daughters Freya and Ingrid live in North Hampton, out on the tip of Long Island. All three women lead seemingly quiet, uneventful existences. But they are harboring a mighty secret-- they are powerful witches banned from using their magic. When mysterious, violent attacks begin to plague the town and a young girl disappears over the Fourth of July weekend, they realize it's time to uncover who and what dark forces are working against them.

Add a CommentAs a fan of the (now cancelled) TV series based on this series and I enjoyed the books. There were some large changes made for the show, but after reading the books I under stand that need & think it worked great that way. I enjoyed the characters-although the sisters are polar opposites-and the story lines.
It seems de la Cruz and I will never be friends. Which is perfectly fine with me.
great book! but HATED the ending, i feel as if the chapters were so in depth with the characters, and near the end, everything you knew about the two main males in the novel changed in 3 short pages. Otherwise, great read! On to the sequel
This book is much better than the Netflix series!! I'm not gonna be watching the series now..just gonna read the books!!
Loved the first book can't wait for the 2nd one to read now.
I loved this book and can not wait to read the reat in the series!!! These ladies are strong and smart, and there was never mention of how pretty someones eyes are lol A grown up tale of witchery!!
Enjoyed this Blue Bloods spin-off novel written for adults. Liked that the author integrated characters and parallel story lines from the Blue Bloods plot, but that she basically separated her witches from her vampires. Will definitely follow up with the rest of the series
Finished this in one day , really good. Very likeable characters and interesting story full of twists and turns. Well I could have done without Hudson and Scott smh but besides them excellent read.
I really didn't enjoy this as much as I had hoped. The character focus shifts every chapter made it difficult to get into the book.
Really enjoyed this book. The story, even if a bit implausible, is fresh and entertaining.
