Great movie. A great, classic whodunnit. But the real standouts of the film are William Powell and Myrna Loy who are a great and cute on-screen couple, the chemistry between them shows.

I have watched this several times now, still really good. It's got a complicated whodunnit but the best part is the silly and loving relationship of the main couple and their cute dog.

I always wanted to see this movie and was glad that it was available. The print quality is excellent so much so that you can understand that Loy a redhead without being told in the B&W Classic. This film is an engaging detective drama and it is historically known as the first spouse crime fighting pair to light up the screen. The witty banter and the humorous acting style and chemistry between Powell and Loy really make this picture work. So worth watching.

Black and White Movie of yester years.

William Powell
Myrna Loy

Nick and Nora Charles, bantering in the boudoir, matching highball for highball and clue for clue, combine screwball romance with mystery.

The movie nabbed 4 Academy Award nominations.

It spawned 5 sequels.

Worth Watching.

Sheer delight! Full of snappy quips the two stars of this picture provide a wonderful portrait of two people in love and involved in solving a crime that lands in their lap. Perky Nora is the perfect foil to her Nicky who knows all the "nice people". Best line for me is "what did you get me for Christmas, Nicky? Will I like it?" "I certainly hope so dear, the man at the aquarium won't take them back."
