If Stephen King wrote detective novels, John Connoly's "The Killing Kind" might be the outcome. Connoly's prose also has the rich textures of James Lee Burke's work. Sometimes I found the colorful descriptions too intense, like thick frosting about to make your teeth hurt. Even so, this is a great terrifying story. If you don't like spiders and other creepy-crawly-things stay away.... far away.
A chilling story of cults, killers and deadly spiders. As always, Connolly writes well and compellingly and continues to spin out Charlie Parker's journey in this world and the other world.
