Short punchy chapters that really pull you through the story. I found there was a bit of a slump in the middle, but the ending made it worth it!

"That rarest of beasts: the perfect thriller. This extraordinary novel set my blood fizzing—I quite literally couldn’t put it down. I told myself I'd just dip in; eleven hours later—it's now 5:47 a.m.—I've finished it, absolutely dazzled."

Easily the best thriller of 2020. You’re guaranteed to read this in a single day, so plan accordingly. Without giving too much away, a woman murders her husband and a therapist is driven to figure out why (and that’s all I’m going to say about that).

This book was definitely a detour from what I normally read but I had heard so much about it I decided to put my name on the hold list. It was a little slow to get started but kept my interest because I wanted to find out how it ended. The end of the book has a real twist.

There's been a lot of hype around this book that caused me to raise my expectations, then the book didn't quite meet them.
Very easy to read with incredibly short chapters. Good writing. Was expecting a thriller, but I would say it's more psychological. Not a lot of heavy suspense. Decent plot twist at the very end.
I gave this one 4/5 stars.

I have no idea why this book is a best seller, the marketing team did an amazing job selling this book. The plot is silly and the characters are all unlikable. The writing is probably the worst part about this book, the style is so mediocre. The authors does a lot of telling instead of showing. I don't understand why he kept telling readers what country certain characters come from but give us nothing other than hey guys, character one is from the Caribbean and character two is Turkish. I would not recommend this book.

Not worth the hype.

What a yawner......I thought this was going to be good based on several comments. However, I was disappointed in it. In addition to the vulgar wording which made me want to stop reading, it was barely interesting enough for me to keep reading it. It was definitely not a thriller.

Like nothing I've read before! I liked the unique plot with the many twists along the way. One of the fastest reads for me this summer.

This book was recommended on a list of suspenseful books with endings with a twist. It was a little slow to get started, but then picked up and I couldn't put it down. And no, I did not see that ending coming! I definitely recommend this book.

What did I just read?? Wow!!! As others have said, I don't think this was a thriller, as much as a fascinating psychological character study. I have no idea how the author managed to come up with this plot!! The Silent Patient is filled with love, betrayal, and revenge. It's a page-turner with a huge plot twist. Many reviewers have said they had the book figured out before the end but I was definitely not one of them. I kept questioning things right up to the end! I'm eager to see what Mr. Michaelides writes next.

I read a review stating that savvy readers will see the twist coming a mile away. That may be true, but I wouldn’t let that stop you from reading this book. Grab a copy and go with it. You won’t be disappointed.
