Pre-WW1 novel with a Russian connection to England. An enjoyable read.

an early Follett that I had forgotten. Easy style of writing, covers a bit of the Russian English connection quite well.

A political thriller about the situation in Europe in the early twentieth century, alternating with the chase of police, the escape over the rooftops and melodrama. Oh, and all the characters, no matter what side they belong to, are noble and to smart, that generally it is not realistic,
