Lost Files: #1: Six's Legacy is the captivating story of Six's harrowing capture by the Mogadorians--and her dramatic escape.

Lost Files: #2: Nine's Legacy sheds new light on how Nine became the fierce and fearsome warrior he is today.

Lost Files: #3: The Fallen Legacies reveals the riveting true story behind One, Two, and Three, the ill-fated members of the Garde, as told by one of soldiers sent to kill them.

Before they were hunted by the Mogs, before Number Four was next, the Garde were all just teens on an alien planet called Earth--discovering their powers, trying to stay hidden, and running for their lives. And now, their Legacies are our only hope.

This is a great start to an amazing series. The lost files are a must read to get the whole experience. I'm rereading the series now and am on the Power of Six, but I read the lost files #1-6 first because once I started reading Adam's stories I just had to finish all his lost files stories. Adam is one of my favorite characters and I love his relationship with Dust, just like Four and Bernie Kosar's relationship, the chimaera are an awesome addition. The legacies reborn trilogy is fun as well. I like that there are still some of the characters from Loren legacies as main characters. With that series, the lost files are essential as well, especially since you get to read more about Six and Sam. I meant to rate this 5 stars but I hit the wrong thing on my phone and now can't figure out how to change it!

This is your friendly Youth Librarian, and wow, I am so late to the party on this one.
Impressions: It's tense, the universe-building is cool, and the plot sets up the series well. I can understand why it would be ear-marked for a movie, there's lots of action, some romance, and a lot of relatability (when you remove the fact that the protagonist is an alien).
The book has been on and off my 'to read' shelf for years. I am so glad I got around to it, albeit 10 years late.

This book is the beginning of a prolific series. I'm glad it has earned the attraction of my 15-year-old son.

I love this book! There was a fighting scene that I didn't get a whole lot about, but otherwise, its a must put on my list read! Also, Pittcus lore's name is James Frey.

This was a great book, better than the movie. I can just find it annoying, being an author like this, and having movie makers just jumble up the whole story line like they did in the movie. I have come to like the books a lot better than the movies, because they provide much more background and understanding to what's going on, and why it's going on.
I am a sucker for books with characters who have powers like this from an unknown world, and also with romance ; ~ )
This was a great book, written in a way where it's hard to put down

If you watched the movie... shame on you! Don't even compare the book, please.
The book, like most cases, is substantially better in many ways!
More details, and of course a bit different story line towards the end (copywriter laws).
But due to the further explanation, and detail about things, as well as better character development and relations, the book has a great way of making you feel closer to the characters and understand how they think. Not only that, but the Four's and Six's powers are HEAPS better in the book, and they are more badass!
It's a great book to set the series off - which you should definitely invest in - cause this series is amazing! The movie gave this book, and series no justice.

A great start to the series, I like how well it sets everything up and introduces characters without being too overwhelming.

Ack, I don't know what to say. It was just so... AWESOME. I am a sucker for romance even at a level of crushes and stuff like that. And the love interests in this book, oof. Even though it sci-fi it doesn't feel like it. I love this series and can't wait to see if they go home to Lorien and defeat the Mogs!! I'll always root for the Garde. Oh and I ship John and Six, I don't really like Sarah as much. And Eight and Seven!!

Doesn't anyone else find it hilarious that the author named Lorien's most famous and legendary Elder/leader after himself? I just find that so funny.
There were parts of this book I liked and parts I didn't; same with the characters. But it's a good book I recommend it

I really enjoyed this book but it wasn't amazing and I still haven't got around to reading to next one yet. What I didn't like so much about this book was the amount of romance.
Gods! He's 15! But other than that it was a really good read and I would recommend to anyone who likes Sci-fi/Action/Adventure.

I am Number Four is the first book in its series. It is about Number Four who is an alien from the Planet Lorien. He had come with his Cepan and the other 8 Garde and Cepans on a ship a long time ago to defeat the Mogodorians who had hunted down his people and to save Earth from them.. He is living in Paradise, Ohio as John Smith and his "Dad" or Cepan as Henri. He developed powers as he grew to save Earth from Mogodorians. As his time went on in Paradise he fell in love with Sarah a girl from his school and became close friends with Sam another kid from his school. The Mogodorians are hunting down the Garde in order of number because that is the only way they can be killed. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are dead. Number Four is next.

Saulia Jul 06, 2012

This book follows the story of John, one of nine aliens with powers from the planet of Lorien. The opposing alien race - Mogadorians - have ruined Lorien, and the only remaiders of the race have fled to Earth. The Mogadorians have ruined their home planet as well, as they did not deal appropriately with issues associated with the growth of their civilization, a problem Earth struggles with today. The Lorien aliens can only be killed in order, and the book begins with the death of Number Three.

SAPPHIREBEAR15 Jun 18, 2012

John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) is from the planet Lorien. He was sent to Earth as a child with eight others to escape the invading Mogadorians, who had destroyed their own home planet. He is protected by a Warrior/Guardian, Henri (Timothy Olyphant), and has developed extraterrestrial "legacies", including enhanced strength, speed and agility, telekinesis and the power to transmit plasma light through his hands.

the lorics are escaping from the mogadorians. will the race survive?

Sep 16, 2011

Number Four and Henri are Lorics and have been living on the run from the Mogadorians for a decade. When they move into the small town of Paradise, Ohio, things start to happen. Number Four ("John") falls in love with a girl named Sarah (who, by the way, is a human), he starts developing his Legacies, and the Mogadorians are locking in on him. Number 1, 2, and 3 are all dead, killed by the Mogadorians - and Number 4 is next.

The back:
Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live amoung you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books--but we are real.
Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived amoung you without you knowing.
But they know.
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed them all.
I am number Four.
I am next.
