A ten year old boy, falls into a sinkhole while out hunting in an Amish countryside and lands beside a body wrapped in a quilt. He is so terrified by the eyes of the corpse that he shoots the face off, thereby preventing easy identification of the remains. This s begins a mystery involving the Amish, a sharp young television journalist named Riley Spartz, family secrets and a very important clue, a twelve acre corn maze. Riley, an investigative reporter in Minneapolis, decides that this is a great story for the news broadcast and a chance to boost her status at the television station. She heads out to Fillmore County in search of a news breaking story. She finds her story and quite a bit more. This fast moving fifth book by Julie Kramer will not disappoint her old fans or new readers. Reviewed by SF.

Not sure where the 4 stars comes from. This has got to be the worst book I have ever read. The only reason I finished it is I was at the lake with nothing else to read. There is no suspense at all, even though the cover has a quote from James Patterson saying that this has "even better suspense". The story seems to end but still continues with other bits and pieces that are all quite boring. The sentences are simple and quite jerky. I guess I have nothing nice to say about this one.
