Maybe I would have liked it more if I hadn't seen The Fall already. But it really is so self-consciously trying to be "moody" with a whopping 12-15 minutes of actual dialogue juxtaposed against 30 minutes of "mood" shots. (And could it make Seattle look worse? The only reason I checked it out was because of the Seattle connection, and it made the entire northwest look terrible, unlike Twin Peaks, which this story line is desperately trying to mimic. And failing badly.

Restrained, realistic acting fused with shots that show constraint and economy -- no shoddy jump cuts, needless flashbacks and shaky handheld. Well-crafted story arch with a devastating yet satisfying ending. No cis boom bah/we gotcha moments here, just a raw and authentic reveal of a tragic death.

Despite the fact that the library data claims the alternate title is "Forbrydelsen" this is not, I repeat *NOT*, the award-winning and critically acclaimed original Danish TV series. Don't waste your time with this crappy American remake.

A bit more of a soap opera than a crime drama. Visually appealing, some character work is solid and the acting is spotty but where it is good it sines. Her sidekick is hilarious. I watched the whole thing and they know how to hook you -- but if you are looking for something of The Wire or Homeland quality, this isn't it.

very watchable; great aerials of Seattle. After the first suspect is railroaded vigilante style, its about the usual red herrings and corrupt politics. Like the paranoid aftermath of 9-11 and Lakewood, its about good acting, not good police work.(even the lead "good cop" is an amazingly bad detective). I prefer Columbo where getting the right guy is more important than building a case against someone, anyone. think of all the innocent people who've spent decades in Texass jails. (thank you Innocence Project )
In theory our adversarial system is good but there is no incentive for cops and prosecutors to admit when they are wrong in the context of a culture that values winning at all costs (like at Penn State)
