When you only have a half-dozen stories, and they’ve all been made into movies or telefilms or teen adaptations a dozen times or more in the past couple of decades, where else can you go? An attempt to present a portion of Jane Austen’s…

Romantic...at first Jane's "boyfriend" Tom Lefroy played by James McAvoy didn't seem like a good match for Anne Hathaway's Jane Austen but his charm hooked me in.
The movie wanted me to look up Jane's life and who Lefroy…

My friend was the one who recommended this to me, and although some parts were cute and good, I thought it would've been better. But it was interesting to watch, considering i don't usually watch these types of movies :)

A terrible movie and an insult to the genius of Jane Austen. The romance between the two lead characters is ho hum and is ridiculous for that time. This is not a period piece at all as it reflects modern ways than for that time frame -…

This movie isn't a "happy" period drama, but I still loved it. I thought Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy did a wonderful job as Jane Austen and her beau. Highly recommend if you love Austen novels because it explains a lot of themes…

Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy were awesome! The ending was so sad though. It was nice to have an insight on Miss. Austin's life. Sad ending, did not expect it.

I thought this was a good movie, as it allows us a glimpse into the life and situations that influenced Jane Austen and molded her writing style. This would be a good movie for a date night.
