A thriller that is a page turner! In this novel, the psychoanalyst and detective work together to solve the cases of 2 missing children, although 20 years apart. French's main characters are likeable. This series should provide many good…

I love this character, Frieda Klein, the patients she sees, the friends around her, the way she walks around London, her relationships and how the stories unfold. It’s gripping stuff without being freakishly scary. Just perfect. See…

The first half of the book is extremely dry and boring. Very little to do with the kidnappings and more to do with establishing the main character, which is interesting because in spite of this I find myself not really caring that much…

Really good book in its genre. Frieda Klein is an excellent character/protagonist. Gripping till the end. End is a little trickery by the author. I gave it a 4 rating.

Authors are a husband and wife team. First in series introducing Frieda Klein, psychiatrist and psychotherapist who operates her practice from a rented flat in London. I read this book AFTER reading a much later book in the series. I…

Thriller about a psychoanalyst who uncovers a secret from one of her patient that may be a clue to the abduction of a girl fifteen yrs prior and a boy at present. Well written but nothing much revealing here.

Enigmatic psychologist Frieda Klein is the main character in this first of a series named after the days of the week. Frieda is a very controlled individual somewhat hard to warm up to but she grows on you after a while. In this…

A novice to crime fiction and to the experienced co-authorship duo, I find the writing a bit staid, and the depiction of the new "sleuth" Frieda Klein at odds with how I perceive her - I doubt all the characters would be drawn to her at…

Nicely written and therefore a joy to read. It also has an interesting twist at the end which sets it up for a sequel...which has been written.

What I like most about this book is the character development. Even minor characters have unique personalities and voices. Of course, the story is a page-turner. I have a rule - never read the inside cover information; let the story…

Despite some negative things that I was thinking to mention, after finishing read the book, I said, "Wow"- such an unexpected turn is on the end of the story. I usually don't say "Wow" while reading book, even if I like it, but in this one…

Reading the other reviews, I guess I just didn't get it. After wading through the first 8 chapters, I found i had no idea how these many characters were related to each other or why I should care.

Wow this was good. A couple of plot twists at the end that I did not see coming. Looking forward to the series continuing.

The good thing is that the book does keep you going till the end. It's not your run of the mill crime fiction books. There's a fair bit of descriptive narrative and not much action or suspense. The characters themselves are a bit dry…
